"oh boy!" or... "oh girl!"....?

This Sunday we had our family and a few friends over for the big reveal. Is it a boy or a girl? Well....

We started off with snacks and a few baby games. B made a trivia-like questionnaire that asked people to predict the gender, birth date, hair color, eye color, length, etc. It was fun seeing everyone's responses. We will have a prize for the winner - the person that was closest in all their answers.

Then we played a game I found on another blog, where Old Wives Tales are read and we answer to predict boy or girl. We ended up with a few "in betweens" but girl won 7 to 5. Mostly because I've been sick and crabby, which totally shouldn't be girlish symptoms. :)













Then the big reveal... I researched ways to reveal for WEEKS and B and I decided cupcakes would be the best (and yummiest!) way to tell everyone. I read somewhere that using mini cupcakes is the best because that way everyone can bite into the middle at the same time. I went that route and baked 24 mini cupcakes. I used an icing bag and tip to squeeze the correct icing color in the middle, then iced over the tops of the cupcakes. We counted to 3 and let everyone take their bite. And the baby is a....

 Missing from Team Pink are Aunt Emily and Uncle Chip, who couldn't leave the mountain because of the bad weather... but they were on the phone for the big reveal!

Team Blue! (although I must say, B predicted girl too, but we wore opposite colors so we wouldn't give it away since we already knew.)

Everyone was so excited, which was so wonderful to see. We can't wait to meet our little girl!!!!
